The LaQuasha "QU" King Foundation

The LaQuasha “QU” King Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt foundation determined by the Internal Revenue Service, founded in memory of LaQuasha “QU” King by her mother, Therina R. King.

The LaQuasha “QU” King Foundation is a not for profit Foundation organized to guide, support and prepare underpriveleged youth and young adults through unique programs which engage the community and encourage excellence with focus on producing creative, socially diverse and productive citizens.

LaQuasha Shantá King, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, attended Colonial Hills Elementary school, Chapman Middle School, and Lee High School. She was very active and enjoyed participating in all of the activities that she loved throughout her school years: track, soccer, volleyball, dance team, and basketball. While at Lee High School, her talents were rewarded with a scholarship to Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama, where she played both basketball and volleyball. LaQuasha graduated from Lawson State Community College in December, 2008 with an Associate Degree in Physical Education. LaQuasha loved her family immensely, and had an outgoing and loving personality. She possessed a smile that could light up an entire room.
LaQuasha always possessed a desire to achieve higher heights and to perform even better. This strong drive led her in her continued studies at Alabama A & M University. While pursuing her endeavors at A & M, she volunteered as head basketball coach at the Boys & Girls Club, participated actively with Girls, Inc., provided assistance to AAMU football players as a sports medicine trainer, and offered assistance to the Huntsville Havoc Hockey team. LaQuasha graduated from Alabama A & M University in May, 2012 earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education (Sports Management).
Since the age of sixteen, LaQuasha--also know as "Lyrek Gnik"--worked at Foot Locker and Foot Action stores where she never met a stranger. In fact, her customers became some of her closest friends. She always took her job seriously; but, most of all, LaQuasha enjoyed being around people; striving to please everyone, providing comfort and love. Moreover, she was absolutely passionate about being a sales representative at Cricket Wireless. On a personal growth mission, LaQuasha began a business opportunity with BWW Huntsville Team/Amway, where she vigorously blossomed.
LaQuasha became a member of All Nations Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Adrian D. Davis. Soon thereafter, LaQuasha joined the choir and considered the congregation her family.
The name "Qu" came about when LaQuasha started her journey in music, modeling, acting, and entertainment. In 2016, Qu's dream came true when she auditioned for an upcoming television series entitled, "STAR", and was selected for a part in an episode. She traveled to many auditions for the "X-Factor" and "The Voice", and she made it to the finale selection. Her creative ideals, dreams, aspirations, and goals are what kept Qu motivated. She never gave up. If there was anything she wanted, Qu went after it and did not stop until she succeeded.
